"playtime is over"
"Playtime is Over" is a poignant and thought-provoking painting that captures the transition from childhood to adolescence. In this evocative artwork, a young girl, (portrayed by my teenage daughter), sits on the floor engrossed in play with her Pinocchio marionette and Raggedy Ann doll. The juxtaposition of her youthful toys against her pensive expression conveys a sense of nostalgia and melancholy.

The blurring of her face with the background symbolizes the fading innocence of childhood as it merges into the complexities of growing up. Through this artistic composition, I wanted to explore the bittersweet moment when children must leave behind the simplicity of playtime and begin their journey toward maturity.

"Playtime is Over" serves as a visual reminder of the inevitable transition in life, where the joys of youth give way to the responsibilities and challenges of adulthood. This painting invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences of growing up and the emotions associated with leaving behind the carefree days of childhood.
