Freefall
I was working in Slovenia and had this amazing view of the ocean while on a lunch break. I snapped multiple photos with my cellphone, trying to capture as many angles of the sunlight as possible. I loved the way the light danced on the water. Once I returned to Los Angeles, I felt such a contrast between what was happening in my personal life vs. my professional life that I decided to paint that beautiful seascape with a bird in freefall. The bird is symbolic for those times in our lives when we find ourselves so consumed with our internal existence that we overlook the magic in the beauty around us. We all want to give up at times, but it is a choice to turn it around and fly before we hit rock bottom.
